Meditation is a great stress & anxiety buster and it can take as little as 10-15 minutes a day. The notion that you have to sit in the lotus position and go into some sort of trance state doesn’t have to come into play at all, although there are many who do meditate this way.

Usually those who can shut everything out of their minds and go into some kind of trance are very accomplished meditators that are well disciplined in the way that they meditate.

When you meditate, you are effectively calming the electronic impulses in the brain, there-fore changing the chemical compounds that rule the brain, nerves and body. It brings your subconscious mind into play and leaves the conscious mind to still itself for awhile.

When the mind is at rest, even for a few minutes, then the body, spirit and soul take a rest and the good chemicals in the brain release and thus heal the body.

It is well documented that regular meditation will prolong your life and give you quality of life……. you will sleep better, work better, be much healthier, suffer less depression, cope better on a day to day basis and be more relaxed and at one with yourself.

When you find yourself stressing out or in a stressful situation, take yourself away (preferably outside) and just sit or stand, shut your eyes, try not to think, and just take deep breaths in slowly, hold gently, and out again slowly. You will be surprised how much it will help, and effectively, that is a form of meditation.

It is well worth your time reading up on the subject, it doesn’t take much of your time to meditate and the benefits will be three fold.
